What do I use to clean my absorbent stone coasters? My coasters have off-white "frames" around the perimeter which have gotten stained from various beverages. I've tried Clorox and OxiClean, but haven't had great success. Any suggestions?

I wonder if soaking them with a denture tablet might work? Has anyone tried it? (01/13/2005)

If you still have to box that they came in the instructions for cleaning are there. Basically place the coasters in a glass baking dish w/out stacking them. Cover with water, and add a 1/4 cup of regular Clorox, wait 25 minutes or until the stains disappear, rinse the stone coasters and use a white towel or white paper towels and allow the excess water to pull out. You are so on it! I just bought a set of stone coasters at the local thrift store for a dollar (hollar!) still in the box, however, when I got them home I saw how nasty & stained they we're! So, I followed the instructions, and now they look brand new! Thank you!
Can you soak stone coasters to clean them if they have a cork backing? I feel like that might ruin the backing.
I was able to get rid of stains on my stone coasters by using a soft toothbrush dipped in a small bowl of warm water with about 20% bleach added. I kept dipping the toothbrush in the mixture and brushing the stains.
