Cleaning Toothpaste Out of a Toothbrush Holder?

I have a vertical plastic toothbrush holder that cannot be opened. How do I clean the toothpaste residue on the bottom of it? I was thinking of filling it partially with water, through the toothbrush holes and putting a "substance" in it, ie: broken Polident tablets, distilled white vinegar, etc. Please help. Thanks.

Pour a mixture of bleach water and hot water in it and let it sit for a while. Then wash in some soapy water. It will not only clean, but also disinfect.

Maybe you had better stick with some vinegar. If it was ceramic, you could use some bleach and water.

Why don't you just get rid of it? Sometimes things are more trouble than they are worth.
