Help me clean my plastic tub, it grosses me out. I like my bathtub sparkling but it's plastic which is new for me from porcelain. I've tried so many remedies these cover overs frustrate me, so I just keep it in my head I know it's at least clean. Please, please help me!

A paste made from sodium bicarbonate and hydrogen peroxide can remove tough stains from your bathtub. Yes, a paste of baking soda and peroxide work well, and so does a paste of baking soda and white vinegar. But the real trick is.... rinse well, squeegee, and then wipe dry, your tub/shower and enclosure when you're done !!!!! Any water left on the tub/shower anywhere, will leave spots and minerals as it dries. It really doesn't take that long to squeegee off as much water as possible, and then towel dry it. And the more often you do it, it gets faster to do as you develop a rhythm. It is the best method for a shiny and spot-free tub/shower.

The gel-type cleaner works best for walls as it will not run off as other liquid cleaners will. Make a gel cleaner using 6 tablespoons of cornstarch mixed in 2 cups of water, and heated until thickened. Remove from heat and add 12 tablespoons of bleach.
Mix and smooth on tub and wait up to one hour.

These tubs are the worst!! When I had one in a rental I would fill the tub with hot water, tide and dawn and let it sit over night. It always came clean. I wish I knew the squeegee trick! An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!!

Plastic bathtubs are made out of ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene), acrylic resins, glass-fiber reinforced polyester and a number of other different polymer materials. Do not use Lysol spray with bleach on acrylic plastic. Lysol Lemon Breeze All Purpose Cleaner does not contain bleach, so it can be used on acrylic plastic.
I get a bulk buy of mister erasers on Amazon--they last for a very long time.
My husband had a dirty job at times..he didn't like cleaning the tub when wet after shower which is best time, esp. after a hot shower.
I found the best thing was bleach...the bottom of the tub where water collects while draining one can just run a couple inches of hot water and add about a 1/4 cup bleach. Let set.
For the sides, just spray a little bleach mixed with water and wipe.
It'll get easier to clean after first cleaning.
