Most of the information presented about how to clean a Coach bag/purse will have to do with the type that has a fabric liner.
First - Coach stores offer a free purse cleaning (available to use every 3 months); you have to call the store and make an appointment for this service. Not all department stores that sell Coach offer this service but I do know that Neiman Marcus did at one time. Anyway, worth a try.

DIY - Usually a good beginning is just plain water with a little blue Dawn does a good first try. Wet small areas with a damp cloth and then a spot of Dawn. Let it sit for maybe 5 minutes or less and then wipe it clean and then rewipe with a clean damp cloth.

There is a cleaner that some recommend (I've never used it); product called: Tuff Stuff - can be found at Walmart or Target or online. This was used with a small brush & a wet washcloth.

If the purse does not have a fabric liner then you will need to clean the inside of the bag just like you would clean the outside of your bag. That means that you will use 2 cups of water and 2 tablespoons of Dawn dish soap mixed in with the water. Now take an old toothbrush and dip this in the water and start to clean really small areas at a time. You will need a clean damp cloth to use to wipe out the bag and the excess soap that is left behind. Allow the bag to dry again before you use it.

You can hand wash with a little detergent and and water, rubbing together with your hands working the stains out. Rinse , and air dry. If you do not want to do the work , you could have your bag Dry cleaned for a few dollars.
