Rubbing your hair and scalp with a bit of coconut oil will do wonders for you before you lighten your hair with bleach. The oils replicate a natural version of your own scalp's oils and protect you from hair breakage and drying damage from the harsh chemicals from lightening solvents. Just dab some on before your usual lightening routine and proceed like usual. The result is the same gorgeous lightened hair but with silk soft, smooth, damage-free hair. I lighten my hair once every three weeks and manage a beautiful shine.

Your idea is not new. Long before you arrived on the scene, Clairol knew the advantages of an oil based bleach. It manufactured a product called 'Mild Oil Bleach'. It was ideal for gentle lightening and for leaving hair in a more lustrous and healthier condition.
As with many of Clairol's better products, it is either very hard to find or has been discontinued. Those who miss the old mild oil bleach would do well to try your tip.
As good as Clairol's oil bleach was, it probably contained a synthetic oil and not a nutrient rich oil such as coconut.

Never heard of it! I have a feeling mine might be cheaper? But only because I'm a coco oil fiend and buy in bulk. Whatever the case, it totally works :)
