My son collected a few soap boxes. He's been so fascinated with different boxes and cardboards turning 'em into toys like a mini oven, or tv and even washing machine. Then he would enjoy playing with his creations.
And now, he's asking me to make a coin purse so he could put his play money. But I thought I could use it for real money.
Supplies:
- any piece of cloth trimmings (at least 6"x10")
- scissors
- hot glue
- regular sized bath soap box
- velcro tape or any button
Steps:
- Open/unfold the box, cut out the sides.
- Trace an arc on the top portion and cut it out. This is optional.
- Cover the front and back of the box with cloth. You can use different colors, a darker shade for the inner part and lighter for the outer side of the pouch. Use hot glue to and make it neat.
- Take two rectangular clippings (ones you cut from the side of the box). Cover both with cloth.
- Fold it horizontally, then crease. (this is optional). Attach in both open sides of the box. See photo for clear reference.
- Attach and eyelet button or velcro tape for the opening and then you're done.
- Pouch is ready to use.
