If I am 20 years old and my father pays my mother back child support is there a way I can go after that for me to receive it instead of my mother? I live in New Jersey.

The back support that your mother is receiving is money that should have been paid for your care when you were younger (under 18-19). So I believe the answer to your question would be - no - you would not have any legal right to those payments.
Well, child support is to help your single mother raise you and should go toward your housing, food, and clothing....
So with the back child support - it really isn't an allowance for you. It is some money to help your mom out.
Unless there is proof that your mother is using the money for herself and not you, I don't think a court will give it to you directly.
The back child support that your father is now paying your mom is what your father should have paid your mom to help raise you. It is not yours in any case.
child support per se ends at 18 years old (when you achieve legal adulthood) insofar as back child support that is compensation to your mother for the money she spent raising you.
Maybe some sort of exotic lawsuit that proved that your mother had actually not spent the money on you but on crazy stuff would be a way
