Computer Mouse Peanut Cookies

These are cutely shaped peanut butter cookies, with a little licorice tail.
They can easily be made into "mice" by adding two M&Ms for eyes.

Total Time: 1 1/2 hour

Yield: 4 dozen

Ingredients:

Steps:

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream peanut butter, butter, and sugars.
  2. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  3. Combine flour and baking soda.
  4. Gradually add to creamed mixture.
  5. Cover and chill dough for one hour or overnight.
  6. Roll into one inch balls.
  7. Pinch one end forming a kind of oval shape.
  8. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  9. Press to flatten.
  10. Using a toothpick make a 1/2 inch hole in the back of the computer "mouse" for the licorice to go in when they are done baking.

  12. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 - 10 minutes. While cookies are still warm, put in licorice at the back of the "mouse".
  13. Cool on wire racks.
