Just learned this, and wanted to share. For example: if you wanted to type 350 degrees on your recipe for baking, etc. On your right number key pad, type in 350, and then with left hand; hold down alt key, and simultaneously type in 167 on right number key pad; and the degree sign will show.

Editor's Note: This should work on Windows systems, but not on Macs.
I hold down the alt key and type 0176 with the numeric keypad, also for a bullet use Alt 0149, and for a dash, alt 0150. Try other number combinations to find the symbols you use most frequently.

Editor's Note: The ones that appear here as little SQUARES are the ones that our server cannot translate. I'm not sure what they were supposed to be, but we have that problem often in the feedback and usually have to guess at what it should be. (03/03/2007)

This is great. I make recipe scrapbooks for my family and am really tired of typing the word degrees. Thanks so much! (10/13/2008)
