Well, from your photo, the King Cole comfort Chunky yarn is listed as 100 grams per skein. So if you are going to use 100 gram balls, it would be the same amount as the King Cole skeins....7.9, or round up to 8 balls.... as long as the balls are also size 5 Bulky yarn, its an even switch between yarns. Good luck on your project.
Thank you so much for your help...
In the pattern of this Cuddle and Play Sheep Blanket is written that you need King Cole Comfort Chunky. I understand why you are having problems. They write about the fineness of this yarn (yarn size) 116 yd in 3.5oz/100g, but the length of the yarn is always indicated for 100 g or 50 g, even if you have a skein weighing 75 g. It is impossible to know the weight of the skein by these numbers. But since they wrote that all this refers to 1 skein, then they mean that 1 skein of this yarn weighs 100 g. I checked it, one skein of this King Cole Comfort Chunky yarn really weighs 100 g www.ebay.com/
The size of the yarn and weight of skein/ball are important. According to this pattern, you need 791 g of the same size white yarn or almost 8 balls (per 100 g) and 91 g of the same size silver yarn or almost one whole 100g-ball. Since the yarn length is always approximate, you should always round up. And it is better to take the yarn a little with a margin, since the knitting density may be slightly different (it depends on the knitter), and, accordingly, the yarn consumption may change.
In the US, skeins are 7 ounces or 198 grams.
Unfamiliar subject to me but I see that Judy and ggd were able to help you.
