I need ideas for cooking without salt. My hubby is on a low salt diet and also has lung cancer, so it's hard.

I never use salt in my cooking, it can always be added at the table, if needed. My late mother started doing this when I was a teen ager, and I am now 71.
I, too, have cooked without salt for years due to my husband's blood pressure. Spices and herbs add wonderful flavors. There are even salt substitutes made of spice and herbs that smell and taste salty. Half butter and vegetable oil give a butter taste. Crystallized lemon works well with vegetables without adding a lemon flavor.
I make a mix of equal parts crystallized lemon, sugar and salt and add 1/8 tsp. to microwaved vegetables after they are cooked. I have found that grinding salt onto food at the table gives a lot of salt taste with very little salt. Hope this helps.
