When using your recipe for a frozen roast does it come out well or medium?

Editor's Note Some answers below recommend using a slow cooker with a frozen roast. This is not a safe practice as the meat comes up to temperature too slowly to avoid bacterial growth. The roast will be fully cooked but may make your family ill.

Too many factors to be able to tell you for sure. Are you roasting in the oven or a slow cooker. Oven it will probable come out well done all depends on oven temperature and how long you leave it in.
It depends on the method of your cooking and how long you do it :)
If you want to cook it frozen, I'd cook it in a slow cooker on low for around 6 to 8 hours. You can always check this during the cooking process and remove it when you have the results you want.

I have a pressure cooker at home that cooked a frozen roast as well.
The thing about a slow cooker like a crock pot is you don't get any kind of searing or "crust" on your roast. That is where a lot of the flavor comes from.
It doesn't come out as tender cooking it in the slow cooker as it fits from the oven. Not sure why, I've done it both ways and the oven is MUCH better
One should never cook a frozen roast in a slow cooker for food safety reasons, It is simply below temp way too long.

Frozen joint will spend too much time in the danger zone . And even though it will cook though it will cook eventually. It will not have reached a high enough temperature in the centre long enough to make it safe to eat.
You need to brown your meat on all sides after seasoning with salt and pepper first. Then add it to the slow cooker
Probably because you had a slightly higher temperature in the oven, which sealed the meat quicker, thus retaining its flavour
When I've cooked roast in the oven or slow cooker, and even my Instant Pot, there has never been any pink in the meat, when I've followed the regular directions. The roast turns out soft and juicy each time. Hope that helps :)
