Cool Strips for Migraines

I have very frequent migraines (several a week). One thing that lessens the pain is a cool strip on my forehead. I buy cool relief patches meant for back pain. They are 5.5 x 4 inches. I cut each one into 2 or 3 strips. Cut LENGTHWISE. These cool strips stay cool for several hours.

I also use them in the summer when I get too hot and for hot flashes.

This sounds like a great idea; cool strips (if I'm not mistaken) are a medicated strip that has menthol on/in it? On contact with the skin, it helps to increase blood flow to the area. Migraines are usually caused by decreased blood flow to the muscles in the scalp. I was a migraine sufferer as well, sometimes 2-3 migraines in a week. My chiropractor helped me get rid of the headaches, though I do get one occasionally. Now, they might happen twice a year.

I have heard that soaking in a bath with Epsom salts helps prevent migraines. It adds magnesium in a way that is easily absorbed.

Magnesium isn't easily absorbed when ingested. I hope this helps your migraines.
