I am replacing my kitchen cabinets. I have black and beige granite countertops and beige tile floors. I wanted to know what the rule of thumb is regarding cabinets with dark granite. Should I go with light cabinets or dark? Thank.

I would go for maple or similar but would suggest you go to stores which have display kitchens and see what they use.

Depending on how much contrast you want, there is a nice brown and tan pattern that would go well. If you want contrast and more drama, try black speckled. This site has some cool images to go through:
