I have a new glass stove top for the first time. I was warned by others to not cook with copper bottom pots and pans (Revere Ware) on it, since it can damage the glass stove top. Is there any truth to this? Thanks.

I have had the Maytag Gemini for 4 years and have always used my Revere copper pots on it with no problem. (01/09/2008)

I've had no problem using copper on my ceramic stove. Do not use cast iron unless smooth bottomed. It will damage the top. (01/10/2008)

Yes, it could possibly damage your glass top. I have witness this when I gifted a family member with a copper pan and it did discolor or stain the surface. Strictly cosmetic but if you can deal with the sight of the damage, its ok.
