I began walking again, to counteract the shelter in place order in our state. We can walk our pets, do any essential things and such but nothing else. So, while I can keep my brain sane with crafts, I have to keep my body as fit as I can get it, plus get some fresh air.
When I have seen bandannas made from fabric, no sewing involved (my machine is broken), I was looking for something to use in my plethora of fabric. When I grabbed a piece, I didn't realize it was the bottom of a shirt I cut off and just threw on the pile. Then inspiration hit me.
Would it work for a mask just for around here? I put it on like a cowl, wrapped around once. It was perfect. When it got a little loose, all I had to do was pull the other part down a bit, and it's tight again.
It covers my nose and mouth, as you can see. Since I am not sick, and want to keep it that way, this is the perfect solution for me. If it would work for you, I am happy to share.

very good!
My son cut off the bottom of some older t-shirts; made one cut down center and now wears this around his neck (like a scarf) and ties it over his mouth/nose anytime he feels it is necessary. Easy peasy and washable.
I found some scrapes of soft cotton material and just made strips - very good in a pinch (not for medical of course).
