Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 1,246 Posts Here is how to make a beautiful little basket to fill with flowers or candy. It just takes one square piece of craft paper and a strip for the handle. You can add little embellishments or messages if you like!
Total Time: 45 minutes
Yield: 1 basket
Supplies:
- 2 pieces of 6x6" craft paper
- ruler
- pencil
- scissors
- glue
- stamps and shape puncher, optional
Steps:
- Mark your paper at 2 inches and 4 inches. Turn and score again at 2 inches and 4 inches.
- Connect the lines across to make 9 squares.
- Cut 2 inches deep at the 2 inch and 4 inch lines at the top and at the bottom.
- Find the midpoints of the center flaps on the top and bottom. Draw lines from their corners to make V shapes.
- Cut out the triangles.
- Cut the side flaps into perfect thirds.
- Apply some glue to the top of the first strip next to the middle flap.
- Bring the flap from the other side over and attach at the tip.
- Continue by gluing on the next set of flaps.
- And finally the third set.
- Bring the triangle up and glue it up to the rim. Repeat the whole process on the other side.
- Cut a 6" x 1/2" strip from another square of paper.
- Glue it onto the basket from the inside to make a handle. Let dry.
- The basket is done, but you can add embellishments if you like. I used this cute stamp on the second piece of paper and cut it out.
- Glue the message onto the basket.
- I made these little strawberries and glued them on to add to the "sweet" factor.
