When I was working as a secretary and later a teacher, I dressed to the nines every day. I bought classic clothing that lasted a long time and didn't pay much attention to trends, so some of my secretary clothes spilled over into my teaching career.
That all changed a few years ago when I retired. Now, my daily wardrobe is T-shirts, jeans, and shorts in summer, and I mostly shop through catalogs. When my t-shirts wear out and I need to replace them, I've found that craft stores (my favorite is Michael's) have lots of multi-colored t-shirts in all sizes, for a lot less ($5-10) than going to a regular department store or even catalogs. They are meant for crafting, but they work just fine for everyday wear. They aren't cheaply made or flimsy.
And, if you want to embellish them with something crafty, even better.

I also like Michael's T-Shirts. They are comfortable, don't shrink and don't fade out quickly. Ain't retirement great!!
Yes! I don't miss working, but I'm still far behind in things I need to do.
