One of the things both my kids and I enjoy are the things we find in nature. From feathers to birds nest and everything in between. I wanted to find a way to preserve these items for us to enjoy for a long time.
I love apothecary jars, so I purchased some in different shapes and sizes. They are pretty affordable at Michael's Crafts if you use their coupons. Now these items don't collect dust or get ruined because they don't have a safe place to be seen.
In our jars we have birds nest, robin's egg shells, feathers, hornet nest pieces, pine cones, leaves, shells, and rocks. Now we can all enjoy these special treasures!
I really like what you did there. I love the nature theme, but it would be a great idea to showcase any small collectables. Good job, too! thumbs up!
I also keep all the Ukrainian eggs that our kids have made at school in two apothecary jars! It protects them and lets me display them all at once....not an easy task with 20+ eggs. :)
Very nice! I have some little things that I'd like to display and your idea would work beautifully.
Thanks!
lalala and everyone,
The idea is nice, but collecting bird feathers, egg shells and nests is ILLEGAL !!!! If caught, you could be fined $15,000.
Read the following !!!!!
Native Americans are allowed to possess certain eagle and hawk feathers.
