My Craftsman riding mower model # 536.270111 won't start. I replaced the carburetor, added fresh fuel, a new spark plug, and an air filter. The engine will crank and I can smell the engine getting gas, but the engine will not start.

You may need a new fuse behind the dashboard.
Do you think it could be the starter?
Or, from this (Same model as yours) they talked about: Solenoid, seat sensor, ignition or limit switch?

You do have the fuel line open (choke or throttle)? Possibly a blocked fuel line?
