Bring peas, water, sugar and salt to a boil. Boil only a short time so peas are still green. Make a thickening of flour and milk. Stir into peas and bring back to a boil. It should be the consistency of gravy. Add more milk, if needed.

My mother made creamed peas, and creamed wax beans, and we always loved them. My daughter recently made them for her family, and they were a big hint. Real comfort food. Thumbs up!
