These little crispy pockets of tuna and cream cheese are an excellent appetizer or side to a meal. I came up with them because I adore crab rangoons, but don't always have those ingredients handy. I always have tuna and cream cheese around! These can be pan fried or baked. I've added both methods in this recipe.
I used gyoza wrappers here because I like they're a bit thicker, but you can also use wonton wrappers.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Yield: 25 puffs
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3 ounces canned tuna
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp soy sauce
- sweet and sour sauce, for serving
- 25 gyoza wrappers

Steps:
- Place all ingredients (except gyoza wrappers) into a bowl and mix.

- Place 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center of each gyoza wrapper.

- Dab a bit of water around the edges of a wrapper with your finger.

- Fold in half, keeping the filling in the center with your fingers, then crimp the edges shut with your fingernail.

- To pan-fry, add a couple tablespoons of oil to a pan over medium-high heat, and add dumplings in a single layer. Cook a couple minutes, until downside is golden.

- Flip and cook the other side another minute or two.

- Place on a paper towel to drain.

- If you want to bake them, place on a greased baking sheet in a preheated 400F oven. Cook for 7 minutes, flip over, then cook another 7 minutes.

- Place on a paper towel to drain.

- Allow to cool for 5 minutes as the insides will be piping hot. Serve with sweet and sour sauce.
