These are simple, little crochet roses that you could use to decorate something. I made 25 of them to go on a quilt I made.
Total Time: 20 minutes
Yield: 1
Supplies:
- Embroidery Floss or Yarn
- Small size crochet hook (depends on size of flower you wish)
- scissors
- large eye needle for crochet thread or yarn
Steps:
- Using a crochet hook, make a slip knot and chain 36 stitches. Then, make a double crochet in the 5th chain from the hook. Skip two chains. Double crochet in next chain. Chain 1 and double crochet again in same chain. Repeat until end of chain of 36 stitches.
- Chain 1. Turn. Five double crochet stitches in first chain. Single crochet in next chain. Repeat the doublet crochet and single crochet stitches until row is complete. These are called V stitches.
- Finish off by tying a knot at the end and leaving a few inches of thread or yarn before cutting. Thread the end piece through a large eye needle. Roll the stitches and "sew" with the end piece to hold the bottom of the rose together. Continue "rolling" the stitches and sewing at the bottom until all of the stitches have been rolled. Secure in place "sewing" back and forth across the bottom. Knot the end and cut leaving about 3".
- At this point, there are two end strands. These can be attached or woven into a project if needed.
