The completed coaster. Don't throw away your old jeans. Use them to crochet this original coaster. You need to know how to crochet a magic ring, single crochet (sc), chain (ch) and finish of crochet. This is a very fast and easy crochet project.

Total Time: 15 Minutes

Yield: 1 coaster

Supplies:

denim (I used old jeans)
crochet hook E-4 (3.5 mm)
yarn
scissors
ruler
pen

Steps:

Cut a strip of denim about 0.5 inches wide.
Crochet a magic ring (or adjustable ring) with 7 stitches.

Starting the crocheted project with yarn,

Insert a strip of denim between the yarn and the last stitch and crochet 1 sc around the strip (fold the strip in half lengthwise).

* 2 ch, 1 sc around the strip, 2 ch, 1 sc around the strip, skip 1 loop. Repeat from *.

Continue crocheting around the denim strip in a circle. If the denim strip runs out, sew another strip to it. Crochet 3 rounds or until you have the diameter you want.

Cut a strip of jeans, 1 sc. Finish of crochet. Hide the end of the yarn.
