Silver Post Medal for All Time! 293 Posts Let's face it, doing the dishes and wiping the counters is no fun. I can't help enjoy it just a bit more when using a pretty, homemade dishcloth.
Total Time: 1 - 1 1/2 hours
Source: My inspiration was my "Super Stitches" crochet book
Supplies:
- "I" crochet hook
- tiny amount #4 worsted weight cotton yarn - "Peaches and Cream", color: "Rouge Red"
- 1 oz #4 worsted weight cotton yarn - "Peaches and Cream", color: "Damask"
- scissors
- embroidery needle for weaving in ends
Steps:
- With your Rouge Red color, ch 5, join with a slip stitch in your first ch to make a ring.
- Ch 7,
- 1 sc into your ring,
- Ch 6, 1 sc into your ring.
- Repeat last step 5 times.
- Slip stitch into the first ch you made in this round. End off with this color.
- Join your new color, Damask, with a slip stitch in the 3rd ch from your first round.
- Ch 4, 1 sc in next chain loop.
- Repeat last step 5 times.
- Ch 4, 2 sc in next chain 4 space, 1 sc in next sc.
- Repeat last step 5 times.
- Ch 4, 2 sc in next ch 4 space, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc, skip 1 sc.
- Repeat last step 5 times.
- Ch 4, 2 sc in next ch 4 space, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc, skip 1 sc.
- Repeat last step 5 times.
- You will now add 4 more rows, continuing in the same manner as the last row. Yet with each subsequent row, you will be adding 1 more sc on each side in between your chain space corners.
- At the end of your 4th additional row, you will have 2 sc in your ch 4 space, followed by seven sc, skip 1, etc.
- Now you will ch 1, sc in the next sc, and 8 sc in the ch 4 space.
- You will proceed in this manner for this entire round. 1 sc in each sc, 8 sc in each ch 4 space.
- When you have reached your first sc, join with a slip stitch and end off.
- Don't forget to weave in those ends.
- Enjoy!
