Crockpot Pintos for Refried Beans

My pinto beans are the best around and the easiest to make. First I rinse the dry beans, getting rid of any dirt or rocks. Then I pop them in my crock pot and add enough water to more than cover the beans.

The beans will swell and soak up the water so keep checking to make sure you have enough water. Next, I put in a chunk of salt pork. Turn the crock pot on to either high or low, depending on how long you want to cook. That's it! They are so good. I have gotten so many compliments on them.

After cooking them, you can take some and mash. Then reheat and use in burritos, or just put some in a bowl, add a little cheddar and eat just like that. Yum!

I quit soaking my beans; I put them in the slow cooker and cover with water as you do.
