I bought a croton few days ago which looked perfectly healthy. After awhile I began to notice it has a few leaves that are crispy at the tips and have begun to look yellowish. Please advise.

According to SFGate, your plant needs bright light, high humidity and year-round warmth. Place it in front of a sunny south or west-facing window where it will get abundant direct sunlight.
Your plant needs to get used to its new environment. It is not uncommon to show signs of stress. Follow the instructions that came with the plant.
There is no way to tell what conditions your plant was previously growing in so it will need to adjust.
