I love these. I use Indian spices on mine usually--- pizza flavour sounds fun!
Sounds wonderful. Can't wait to try. Walmart sells the canned beans with no salt added.
I like to buy the dried version and re-hydrate them myself (less salt than the canned version). By the way? No oil required. E-mail if you want my recipe. wordswork@telus.net
You can certainly air bake them, especially in a convection oven, but oil and/or butter adds flavor.
I buy them dry (no salt), soak them, season (no fats), then put them in the dehydrator. Nothing extra you don't want in them, just the spices you do want.

Drizzling oil is uneven and inefficient. A better method is to put the chickpeas in a plastic bag along some oil and spices. Then seal the bag and shake to coat the chickpeas.
So many great tips. I have a can of garbanzos and also some dried ones so I'm hoping to do some trials. I'll keep you all posted. :)
I found some great ways to perfect this recipe. Thanks to everyone.
Yummy Jackie. I used smoked paprika (my newest spice obsession) and top my salads and cooked veggies with mine!
Thanks
