I have a small New York City apartment. I need advice about curtain colors. I'm replacing the closet door with a curtain. There are 2 closets on opposite sides of the living room. I have a light gray West Elm couch (Bliss), teal and ivory throw pillows, an ivory fuzzy floor rug, dark brown/black furniture, and have no idea what color the curtains should be. Could someone please advise?
Picture note - the carpet will be changed to fuzzy ivory, and please excuse the mess :)

I liked the blue carpet and was going to suggest the curtains be the same shade. You could do the same with the ivory carpet. The apartment is small, so I think that curtains the same colour as the walls (or light ivory like the new carpet) will make the room look bigger by providing a uniform backdrop for your furniture.
