I have pumpkin colored walls in my kitchen and a brown floor. I am wondering what color curtains would look the best on the french doors. I've posted a picture of the color and french doors. Thanks in advance.

I think I'd go with the light tan color that's in your floor and that would tie in with the background color of your wall picture too.
Never thought of going with the tan. Think that might look nice, though.
I'd go with a nice cream color.
Unless it's for privacy, why would you want to cover up those beautiful french doors? If you need to, however, the light tan would be a good choice.
I'd go with the cream. Are you thinking of drapes, or of panels just to cover the window area -- like sheers? I might try to just go with sheers. That would provide privacy without totally covering up the light.
Wow, thanks everyone. I like all your suggestions. I don't want to cover up the doors though. I want them just so it doesn't look so bare. They'll be off to the side. We don't need them for privacy.
This may be a far cry from what you had in mind, but it at least will give you a starting point.
I like the color a lot. I think a side panel in this color would look great! How did you do this? Thank you!

If you're asking me, I did it with Gimp. It's sorta like Photo Shop, except it's free. Once you get the panels in the picture, it's easy to play around with different colors.
Well I did it. I bought cream colored curtains (not sheer but very lightweight). Love the look. Will post picture later. Thank you all!
I went with the cream color drapes because my kitchen is so dark I wanted to brighten it up. I thought tan would make it look darker and there is cream and orange spots in my floor. Just can't see in this picture. I'm going to get orange and cream colored placemats and seat cushions to tie it all together.
You asked for an honest opinion. I think you made an excellent choice in color and fabric. But...the curtains are too large, and coupled with the rod, have dramatically altered the original effect. It seems you no longer have french doors, just an overpowering wall treatment.
Since you have invested in the curtains, it would be interesting to see how it would look to take them, and the rod, down. Then, with a lot of straight pins, fold and pin each panel to the size of the glass panes. Next, you could temporarily affix the panels over the panes.
If you think you might like the effect, you could add a pale pumpkin/peach sash in the center of each panel and draw the curtains together slightly in the traditional 'X' style.
Then, if you really like the effect, maybe you could have the curtains altered to fit the glass panels. (Even those nice framed hangings on either side seem to get lost amist all that curtain).
Just my Sunday morning musings. In the end, you will want to do and keep what you can look at and say, 'I done good'!!
I agree, the curtains with the rod are overpowering the lovely French doors you had. Simple is always best. The color is fine though.
PS
I think it's good that you plan to extend the color treatment to place mats and seat cushions. But do be careful with orange, a little goes a long way. Try a little, first. You might find that a lighter pumpkin or salmon/ peach tones work better.
Happy decorating!
I really don't want to cover the window panes as I have a dark kitchen. The french doors are the only way I get light into my kitchen other than a window over my kitchen sink. This picture really does not do them justice. The curtains do have a pattern in them (can't see with this pic). Everyone that has seen them in person really likes them. I will never close them as we don't need them for privacy. Without any type of window treatment the dining area looked like I was in the midst of cleaning. Thanks for your honesty, though.
Maybe I could go with the short rods on each side.

I didn't realize you did not want the door panes covered, even with sheers that would allow light to pass through. Mea culpa.
The curtains you bought do brighten up the room considerably. I still think they are too much. I think they are too high, and I think the rod and the upper door frame together create distracting parallel lines. I think bringing the rod down to where it is inline with the upper door frame will make a huge difference.
Thank you for putting up with we 'would be decorators'. Would love to have cup of hot mulled cider in your kitchen!
On my old french doors I had the sheers on the panes and even with the light that passed through the kitchen was too dark. I agree with you about lowering the rod, though. Very good idea! Would love to have cider with you, as well.
if you want to change it up in future, a tiny blue plaid would look very rustic.
My sitting room and dining tiles are brown. The foyer wall paint is dark red.!sitting room wall paint is white and dining room wall paint is light cream. What colour curtains would look the best on windows
