Tangerine or red would add a pop of color.

You seem to like more subdued colors so maybe your bright or "pop-out" should be mostly in accent accessories like pillow, pictures and lamps.
- It looks like you have a shorter window so were you planning to go with curtains fitted inside the window or maybe longer curtain/drape styles from ceiling or top of window to floor?
- If you do not need privacy curtains then you could use a mixture of sheers (panels) in different colors. Maybe some teals/blues mixed with cream and an added orange/tangerine just to spice it up a little.
- You could try the same thing if you plan to use longer, heavier curtains (solid colors) or try to find a cream/beige curtain with a colorful (but sparse) design for accent.
- You might want to take photos of your room (cellphone?) and visit a couple of curtain/drapery departments (Macy's, etc) and look at their hanging displays.
- I think you would be able to find something that suits your taste but also adds "oomph" to your room.
