DIY Carpet Cleaner - Dawn and hydrogen peroxideThis cleaner works very well and smells good. The website says you can mix it up in advance and store it in a spray bottle.

Use 2 parts hydrogen peroxide to 1 part blue Dawn. I mixed it up in a bowl, but you could put it in a spray bottle. Apply the cleaner to stains and use a brush to scrub in. Spray with filtered water to remove as much of the dirt as possible. Blot with a clean rag. Some of the stains disappeared before my eyes and some required more scrubbing. I was more than pleased with the results. The last two pictures show a stain that had been on the carpet for years, and came out today.
