Ever notice how cans of cooking oil sprays end up empty so quickly? They are costly for how much actual oil they have in them. They also have quite a few additives. You can make your own at home two ways.
You can make a plain oil spray by transferring your favourite oil to a clean spray bottle. You can make a lighter oil spray by mixing 3 parts distilled water to 1 part oil. Pour in a clean spray bottle and shake before each use. It's an added benefit that the spray bottle is clear and you can actually see how much is left, unlike with those aerosol cans. I also love being able to set the spray nozzle to "mist" and get just a touch of oil to save on calories.

I put refined coconut oil into a misting bottle today and used it to lightly spray the pan for a fried egg sandwich. Wow ... so easy ... and no wondering if you've put in the right amount of oil. Thanks for the tip. :)
Excellent! Glad it works for you! :)
These days one must be very careful what kind of plastic you use for food. Only plastic certified for food should be used and I dont think there.are any spray bottles made for food. Plastic not certified can contain cancer causing chemicals that break down and leach into your food.
I have a small glass spray bottle with a stainless spraying section. It works perfectly.
Good idea - cheaper too!
