Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 1,298 Posts Macrame plant hangers are very popular and trendy, this is a lovely way to display your potted plant(s). You could make yours for fractions less than what they're selling for. They are perfect to hang outside your home especially if you have limited space. This would also make a nice gift.
*The measurements are based on the pot in the photo, but I am going to add a different plant inside.
Total Time: 15-30 minutes
Yield: 1 plant hanger
Supplies:
- macrame cord
- key ring
- scissors
- ruler
Steps:
- You will need 8 strands of rope (about 5 to 8 feet each depending on the length you want your plant hanger to hang - the longer the better since it's be easier to adjust shorter if needed).
- Depending how long of a rope tassel you want, you can knot (mine is at 5 inches) - this will be the bottom part of the hanger.
- Separate cords into 4 equal parts (2 strands each).
- Knot according to the base of your pot which mine measured 4" so the hanger will fit best. Knot the 2 strands each, total of 4.
- For the next layer, open 2 strands, you will take one cord strand from the knot and tie a knot with the neighboring strand. Repeat same process until you are happy with the results.
- Once you have enough knots, at the very top slide cords through a circular keyring and secure with knot. Ready to be hung.
