Do you have an empty paper towel roll? Recycle the roll and turn it into this fun kaleidoscope toy for your kids, you can make 2 kaleidoscopes per roll!
Total Time: 30 minutes
Yield: 2 Kaleidoscopes
Supplies:
- paper towel roll
- aluminum foil
- scissors
- tape
- scrapbook paper
- plastic paper
- foil
- scrap piece of cardboard
- assorted beads
- pen/pencil

Steps:
- Cut paper towel roll in half to make 2 kaleidoscopes. Option: If you don't want to make 2, you can make 1 and not cut the roll in half.

- To make your kaleidoscope look nice wrap with fun, colorful scrapbook paper. Cut paper 1/2" inch larger than the roll and secure with tape.
- Using a piece of cardboard (I used waffle cone cardboard packaging) cut out 2 square shapes and then fold in thirds to create a triangle that will fit inside your paper towel roll.
- Wrap the cardboard piece with aluminum foil and tape to create triangle shape - the shiny side will be on the inside.
- Insert foil wrapped triangle into roll and secure in place with tape.

- If you are making 2 kaleidoscopes, trace out 4 paper towel roll sized circles on the plastic sheet and cut out.

- If you are making 2 kaleidoscopes, trace out 2 paper towel sized circles on the scrapbook paper and cut out the finder shape you want yours to be whether it be a circle (traditional), or I made hearts, up to you!

- Now place the plastic circle over the foil triangle. Add assorted beads.
- Once you have added your beads cover with the second plastic circle piece and secure down with tape.

- For the other side (viewer side), tape down the heart shaped circle cutout! Then your child has a new toy and it's ready to play with!
