Hello All, I'm a housekeeper and dearly love 409 Stone and Steel. Stone and Steel just works really well. I'm having a hard time finding 409 and when I do it's very expensive. My question is does anyone have a DIY recipe to share?

From all I've read, one should NOT use vinegar on granite
It looks like this product may be either discontinued or on its way out as most stores are showing out of stock.
I did not see a DIY formula for this product and I'm not sure you will. If you still have a container you might check the ingredients and try to come up with your own solution.
This product is made by Clorox so you might try contacting them about where to buy and what plans they have for this product.

I did find some of this product listed online but it is going to be expensive.

Looks like that is a very difficult cleaner to find. I saw this product mentioned and it was highly rated, so you might try it.
'Weiman's Granite And Stone Cleaner'

I also found a recipe for making granite and stone cleaner:
2 T. Vinegar
1 t. Borax
1/8 C. Dawn D/W Soap
1 C. Hot Water
Optional - 1 Drop Essential Oil
I hope this helps. :-)
I searched the Clorox website and found this "Where to buy 409 Stone and Steel cleaner:

Hope you find it from one of the stores listed. Stay healthy, and good luck.
Monique is correct... never use vinegar on granet or marble, as the acidic action of the vinegar will etch the surface of the stone and dull the surface shine.
I have found some good granite cleaners that people use at home on their granite countertops. I use to have this type of countertop but I no longer have it because it is too expensive where I live now.
Vinegar will ruin both marble and granite.
I asked the company if it was discontinued because I love this product as well. The reply I received Is that its not being discontinued, but theyve temporarily paused production in order to meet the demand of stronger disinfectants due to Covid.
We understand that the 409 line of products has become loved by so many over the years. Great news is it has not been discontinued. We have made the difficult decision to temporarily prioritize the production of products that disinfect in order to help people protect themselves and their families against COVID-19.
We also have been unable to find any 409 Stone & Steel cleaner anywhere. It is/was the best we found for our granite countertops.
We hope it is soon reinstated to Clorox's product line.
