Damaged Hair from Texturizer

I used an extra strength texturizer on my hair about five years ago. My hair hasn't been able to grow like it used to ever since. My hair used to grow super fast super quick but now my hair grows to a length and stays the same and the sides barely grow. I noticed when I wash my hair, I see breakage. I even got dreads for the last three years, just to see if my hair would grow and it did. I recently cut my locks and same problem.

I just started deep conditioning my hair and got great results, basically no breakage but starts again after about a week. Somebody please help me I miss my long beautiful hair and it's been too long

I know several people who have issues like this with their hair breaking all the time. You are going to have to change the shampoo and conditioner you are using on your hair for sure. I would visit a beauty supply store. My best friend's daughter had an issue with her hair after she had children. Her hair was breaking and so thin it would not even grow. She took the chance and bought some shampoo that a company called Monat makes. it has taken a few years to work and get her hair back to the beautiful shape it was before. This shampoo she swears by it and has not started selling it.

The shampoo that you are using plays a major role in the condition of your hair. I think that you need to buy a good shampoo and conditioner for your hair and start using this each time you wash your hair. Change how you take care of your hair and the way you brush or comb your hair. Breakage is normally due to the way your hair is taken care of. In some cases, it is due to health issues and maybe you need to consult a doctor and see if you should be taking some type of vitiams each day.

First ask yourself, if you have, extreme Stress, menopause, physical trauma like(surgery/illness) , dramatic weight loss in a short time, and to much vitamin A. I know you have loss from Texturizer. You could seek a professional skin/hair specialist. They can assist you on what type of repair that is needed for you, (not one size fits all).

Repair consist on a individual basis. Seek out and read reviews of others before deciding . Here is a medical link also giving you more knowledge to hair loss - www.webmd.com/.../women-hair-loss-causes#1

Wonderful suggestions above about checking in with internal health, as well. Not always will an external element or product help, BUT it's good to trim your hair and condition often. You can even skip washes to help save your hair. I have been taking biotin and it's been wonderful for someone who like me who is constantly dying her own hair.
