In order to keep the cutting board from sliding around while slicing potatoes, put a slightly damp washcloth under it. Here I am perilously close to a hundred and I didn't know this!

I have found that using the rubber like shelf paper on rolls like contact paper (found in the same area of store) work well if placed under cutting boards to keep them from sliding, also. No sticky or wet issues to deal with. Also, grip-it pads for opening jars easily can be used.
