Why do some of my dashboard lights come on and my speedometer works
only sometimes?

You may have a short in the electrical system. I would have the car serviced if I were you.
Probably bad hook ups. You should definitely have it checked because a speedometer going out can be very bad for your safety.
Your battery or alternator could be on the way out. Please have them checked!

My son has several vintage cars along with a newer model that seems to have more problems than the older models but anytime he has an electrical problem, he drives the car to one of the auto parts stores and has them run a diagnostic check.
He plans to buy his own diagnostic tools soon but you can't beat a free deal so check out Auto Zone, Advance Auto Parts or maybe some others have this same service.
Do this soon as this may be just the beginning of a bigger problem and may even cause your head lights to malfunction.
