Decorating Jars for Gifts

Debra Frick
December 18, 2007

clamp jar with beadsMy daughter and I found a whole box of these clamp jars at a yard sale this summer and thought they would be perfect for Christmas so we put them away. She had the idea that she would fill them with candy or nuts for her in-laws, since her father in law loves honey roasted peanuts. Well, it's Christmas time and we pulled out the jars and found that, with a little bit of extra beaded ribbon I had, these made a wonderful gift for any one.

They are quick and easy and could be filled with home made mixes or bath salts or just candy. These jars can also be bought at Michaels. This would be a great quick project for a teenager or older child that could safely handle a glue gun.

Time to complete: With shopping for the perfect beaded ribbon, about an hour.

Instructions

Cut ribbon to size of jar below clamp. Hot glue ribbon on. Fill with your choice of ingredients.

Enjoy!

One of my daughters in law has several of these jars of different sizes on her counter for cannisters.
The pasta and rice and various beans give her kitchen a really cozy look.
