Gold Post Medal for All Time! 899 Posts My son bought an inexpensive pair of tennis shoes at Target awhile back and recently decided to fancy them up a bit. What better way to do this, than with duct tape and spikes?!
Supplies:
- duct tape
- sharp scissors
- decorative brads or findings
Steps:
- Apply strips of the tape, in lengths that don't result in creases and puckers. Be sure to slightly overlap the edges. I recommend starting at the edge of the sole so that you can have a nice edge there. Continue applying tape until the whole shoe is covered. Use one long piece where the lace holes are, then use the point of the scissors to make the holes in the tape for the laces.
- Use either matching or contrasting duct tape for the tongue.
- For the spikes (or other brads and decorations) cut small squares of tape, poke the brads into the tape, and fold the points back to secure them. Then stick them to the shoe. Be creative and have fun!

No he hasn't. I am not sure how they would hold up. Rain might not be too bad if you avoid puddle jumping. :)
