I just bought a red leather couch for my family room and have a dark tan recliner. The wall to wall carpet is neutral. What color TV stand would work, black, grey, or brown? What other color(s) can I bring in? The walls are blue.

I would stick to all neutrals now. Does the red leather go nicely with the blue walls? It must be a very deep brownish red, to do so. I am not sure what colour you mean by neutral when you refer to the carpet. Black, white, grey, brown, tan , beige are the neutral colours. My rule of thumb is, if in doubt, go black.
