If I decoupage a napkin onto a table cloth, how can I seal it so that it can be washed without coming off?

The washing process, with detergent and water-hot or cold, will loosen the glue. An alternative to consider is to stitch the napkin to the table cloth.
Would it be feasible to use an iron on product such as Wonder Under to affix the napkin to the table cloth? You could then do a decorative stitch around the edge of the napkin.
