Is Albert E. Price a creator of dolls for Ashton Drake? Someone said they have 2 dolls from Ashton Drake, but the tag says Albert E Price Inc. Most of my dolls are by Yollanda Bello.

Numerous artists/designers/creators have done work for/with Ashton Drake but Albert E. Price is not one of those.
Albert E. Price has been in business (in the US) for many years and have made dolls and all sorts of ceramic pieces.
Here are links to some of their dolls:

I meant to add some additional information:
Ashton Drake Yolanda Bello and Albert E. Price dolls seem to be selling for less than $25 but more Bello dolls are being sold.
Whatever making is on the doll is the only true brand ID.
Both companies made beautiful dolls and anyone owning either brand should love having them on display.
In this day and age dolls are usually bought because we like them, memories or for someone special and will probably never be bought for an investment.
These are the reasons the current market value sometimes fluctuates so I hope value is not what you are seeking but just want information about these dolls.

I have a feeling one of a few things is going on here:
1. Back when it was sold, it was a bait and switch doll....which was when thieves would try to put an expensive doll into a cheap doll's box and take it to the cash register and hope to get the bargain price.
This happened all the time when I worked in retail and if you weren't trained right, it could leave the store that way. Our store was good about preventing it, but some stores weren't.
Fast forward to today and these dolls are not out in the marketplace with confused pedigrees because boxes and tags say one thing and if the seller is not a true collector, they may not know that the true identity of the doll is on the back of the neck or the butt or the foot and they are trying to pass a doll off as something it is not.
2. The seller just has no clue what they are selling. The seller is probably a flipper and found a bunch of dolls in a storage bin or at a yard sale or Goodwill or wherever, and just started matching tags to dolls without a clue of what they have. They don't bother with the research, they just have dollar signs in their eyes.
Today's marketplace on eBay, Etsy and other sites are filled with newbies trying to make a quick buck. There are a whole bunch of very unhappy buyers in the world lately since this has started. So if you are looking to buy these, ask a lot of questions.
3. The seller did something I have done by accident which is when youare posting ads and you do a Sell Similar or do a copy and paste previous listing and you forget to change the details.
That is very embarrassing. I have done it. I once listed a radio and it had the description for a picture frame. OMG. Talk about being mortified. It was an accident and we are all human! A very kind person who desperately wanted the radio was like...hmmm...Radio's don't have wire hangers on the back, can you give a better description. OY!
Drake had many doll makers (they are the company who hired artists like Bello). I am sure the Albert E Price company hired artists also, but from my research I don't see them boasting about the artists that made their pieces and from my understanding most pieces just had the company name with is the Albert E Price company. I only ever sold their Carousels, not their dolls.
If what you are seeing is something you want to buy, I suggest asking the seller questions. If you feel that the seller is wrong or being misleading, I suggest treading carefully as some sellers can get quite rude when corrected--which is so wrong, but people can be nasty sometimes. If a seller is rude to you, you can always report that to the site that they are selling on.
Post back what you learn!
