My mom and I are starting a cleaning business, but we aren't really sure where to start. We have already been presented a house by a friend, and we are planning to charge per sq ft. as well as per window and door, would anyone be able to help with a price range of an adequate price?

Different areas command different prices. Where I live, people are charged by the job. Larger houses cost more than smaller ones. You need to find out what people are charging in your area.
My friend and her mother, also housecleaners, charge by the hour. They bring their own cleaning supplies and tools (pails, mops, vacuum cleaners and such). It turns out to be a fair arrangement for all parties: sometimes clients' houses are dirtier than others, and sometimes they're asked to do seasonal or ocassional jobs such as cleaning ovens and defrosting freezers.
