I have a 5 pairs of love birds in my home, but am unable to find their genders.
From what I have read the only reliable way to determine the gender of most lovebirds is through either surgical or blood testing methods. There are typically no external differences between males and females. Even birds of the same gender may go through the steps of nest building, so unless there is an egg even this behavior is not helpful.
