This antique dresser has been in my family (and most recently in my garage) for as long as I can remember. There are no manufacturer's markings on it. My dad remembers that it was handmade, but unsure by whom. But he does remember it came from my great grandparent's home. It is walnut and the surface pieces are marble. I'm interested in selling it, but don't have any idea how much it's worth. Can you help?

You will probably need to get it appraised by a dealer. There are many factors affecting value. Dovetailed drawers made by hand will not be uniform and will be worth more than machine made dovetailed drawers, for example.
This is stunning!! I love it!! I also like it that it has a story about your family with it. That is neat!
I call these Victorian Marble Top Drop Center Dressers.
Where I am in Pittsburgh, you can't give these away, which is heartbreaking, because if it is handmade it is art.
In other parts of the country they can sell from $100 and $1000.
It is all about supply and demand and the market in your town, which end of the spectrum you will find.
You would be best served to find a good antique dealer to let you know what your market is like. If you are in somewhere other than the US, the market is much stronger, from what I understand because there is more of an appreciation for furniture as art than there is in the US.
When you ask to value the piece, you will learn more if you talk about insurance value. That value is higher than retail, but will give you a feel for your market.
If you like one of the dealers, you could have them sell it for you since that is the most efficient way to sell something large and hard to move.
Post back what you learn!! I would love to hear more!
