It would help if we knew how big a yard you are referring to but the main question is why are you wanting to disinfect your yard?
If you have dogs (or is this where dogs have 'lived') then your first step of course is to completely remove any feces that may be in the yard. This has to be done first - use a shovel/rake/bags and garbage/trash cans.
If no dogs then what is wrong with your dirt yard?

If you just want to clean the area then I would suggest using a solution of half & half water and white vinegar.

Sanitizing your yard to remove harmful bacteria and mold, fungus, mildew, and bacteria is a big job and usually will require continuous 'cleanings'.

White Vinegar:
White distilled vinegar has been shown to kill a large amount of all fungus and will work to kill the fungus in a dirt yard.
1. Mix 1 part white distilled vinegar to 1 part water in a pump sprayer.
2. Soak down the top of your yard, then, if possible, use a rake to mix it around. Repeat the process two or three times letting the vinegar solution remain on top the final time.

It seems bleach is not recommended for this type of cleaning:

If you are trying to sanitize your yard due to a Parvo contamination then you need to follow these directions: (bleach is recommended)

Bleach disinfects with a solution of 1 part bleach to 10 parts water. If you are disinfecting because of parvo, you have to keep the dog out of the yard for 6 months or more.

Make a homemade disinfectant spray. Mix 3/4 cup Borax, 1 cup white vinegar, 10 drops lavender essential oil, 5 drops lemon essential oil.

Disinfecting kills harmful bacteria and viruses from surfaces. Use a pet-safe multipurpose disinfectant or try spraying hydrogen peroxide on the grass. You can also dilute bleach with water. Let any grass disinfectant for dogs air dry before allowing dogs to pounce and play in your yard again.
