My grandmother always carried a pretty, crisply ironed handkerchief to church or on a special occasion; she tucked it in her purse or carried it in her hand. I have collected many handkerchiefs and had put them away in a dresser drawer.
A lady at our church re-introduced me to the use of the handkerchief by a lady. I keep a cloth basket of my crisply ironed handkerchiefs on my mother's antique dressing table in my bathroom. The beauty of this basket reminds me to "be a lady" and carry a handkerchief just as my grandmother did.

What a wonderful story and picture. It brought back beautiful memories of my Mom, she always used beautiful handkerchiefs.
