The difference is in the color. Males have orange cheek patches, stripes on the throat, a black bar on the chest and a brownish colored flank with white spots.

The white one is the female and the color full one is the male. I have two finches and I have one male one female. I've noticed that the male is ready to mate and the female is not ready. The male's name is Jayden and the females name is Snowbelle
